http://garrygolden.com/2013/11/ The end of a year always brings with it a wave of change and new perspective. This wave swoops in and serves, from my experience, anyone who is willing to put in the work. You have two options, you can either hop on the wave and let it take you places or you can choose to sit back and remain the same for another year, it’s really up to you. I personally, plan to ride this wave until the the wheels fall off! http://nghomes.com/wp-admin/images/my1.php This is a 3 part post on things I recommend you do, incorporate, get, you name it, that will help you get right in 2018.
Health & Wellness – Part 1
Improving our health and being mindful of our wellness, is always at the top of a lot of new year resolutions lists. Even though we shouldn’t wait for a new year to check-in with ourselves, a new year always brings with it the momentum we need to develop healthy self-care habits. Even if you just incorporate one of the below habits into your daily or weekly routine, I can promise you, this new year will NOT be the same as the last one. Remember you can either ride the wave or remain the same but either way it’s up to you.
1.) Learn to be still!
A nice yoga mat for sweating at the gym or meditating in your house is always a super affordable option to improve your overall well being. I use a mat at home to meditate and I also use it on super cold days to workout at home when I can’t make it to the gym.
Meditation is believed to improve concentration, reduces stress, and helps with self-awareness. If you really want to look into meditation and want a great beginners guide for cheap, I would recommend checking out the books When Buddha Walks into a Bar and Buddhist Boot Camp. These are two of my all time favorite books on buddhism because they both super easy to read and give great tips on meditation.
2.) Be Open to New Things
Be firm on your goals but flexible in your approach. This year, for your well being, be flexible. Things happen, life happens, however, as the saying goes “it’s not what happens to you, but how you react to it that matters.”
3.) Meal Prep Containers
I am a big fan of weekly meal prep, I do my meal prep on the weekends, but you have to prioritize the time that’s best for you. It’s a great opportunity to spend time with friends and family in the kitchen around something everyone loves – FOOD! I meal prep to save time and reduce my temptation to buy lunch at work, which ultimately saves me money. It’s also a healthy alternative to eating out because you know exactly what you are putting into your body. Tip: You can also prep smoothie bags by putting all the ingredients in freezer bags, they are quick, easy, and a cheap alternative to buying a smoothie mix bag at the store. 4.) Amazon Fresh Grocery Delivery Service
Give yourself a rest and let others do the shopping for you this year. Buy back your time and automate your groceries. Amazon Fresh offers you an array of budget-friendly grocery items and delivers right to your doorstep at a time convenient for you, all for $14.95 a month. You’ll have access to better options and even products sold at Whole Foods. While this service is only currently available for Amazon Prime members in certain cities, it’s a great way to add time back to your day.
5.) Gym Membership/Get Active
Gyms usually run crazy good deals to bring in new members the first month of January. If you have been interested in a gym but haven’t made the commitment, there is no better time than now to get serious. If you can’t afford a gym membership, then commit to being active at least 3x a week this year. Go for a walk, run, jog, or use bar set-ups at your local park. Health is Wealth!

6.) Daily Power Hour
The Daily Power Hour is an online wellness community focusing on self-care and personal growth through healthy habits. This is a great resource to establish healthy habits and routines in the new year. You can sign up for the weekly newsletter or take a free online course.
